Methods of Use
Real Mad Honey can be used in various ways:
- On its own: eat Real Mad Honey neat, never more than 5 g a day – less than one level teaspoon, for adults only.
- Mixed with warm water or tea: you can stir your Mad Honey into warm water or tea, just like you would with regular honey, once the drink has cooled below 40 °C. It brings an extra and exciting taste to your drink.
- Added to food: It is also possible to mix mad honey with various food products depending on your own preferences, such as yoghurt, bread, toast or as a salad dressing.
Whichever way you use it, never more than 5 g a day.
Grayanotoxins and Lab Testing
Mad honey contains naturally occurring grayanotoxins from rhododendron nectar, and every batch is tested by an independent laboratory for its grayanotoxin content.
Precautions
Not recommended for children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with heart or blood pressure conditions, or if allergic to honey. Taking medication? Ask your doctor first.
Eating more than 5 g a day can cause dizziness, nausea, cold sweats and low blood pressure. If that happens, stop, drink water and rest; if symptoms are severe, call 112 or see a doctor.
